What is the project about?
Join the team in shaping and optimizing the client’s storage services management platform, with a focus on providing secure and user-friendly access to the vast potential of ICT data for both internal and business clients. Actively engaging in pre-sales efforts, your team will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth onboarding of new customers and driving revenue growth. The storage platforms encompass IP storage, Blockmode Storage, and a backup platform. We are currently seeking to strengthen the team’s expertise in the Blockmode Storage platform, which is built on IBM-SVC, Brocade SAN, and storage solutions from various suppliers.
 
As a technical administrator, you will be operationally accountable for the platform’s functionality, dedicating your daily efforts to enhance and optimize its performance. Your primary goal is to achieve automation and simplification, aiming for a platform that is both stable and efficient. By opening the platform to higher-level parties for the automated execution of chain activities, you establish clear boundaries for responsibility delegation. Serving as the main point of contact for customers in matters of technical information and advice, you take charge of the platform’s performance, ensuring thorough monitoring, reporting, and integration with higher aggregation/monitoring layers. With a keen awareness of costs, you contribute to cost-effective solutions. Additionally, you oversee the technical and economic lifecycle management (LCM) and regular patching of the platform, maintaining documentation accordingly.

Responsibilities
In addition to regular management tasks (such as changes, incidents, etc.), the job involves:

• Ensures accurate documentation and administration;
• Act cost-consciously;
• Collaborates on technical designs;
• Update platforms through patching and Lifecycle Management (LCM);
• Hold substantive responsibility for the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) associated with the platform;
• Automate manual tasks as much as possible and actively contribute to improvements in the infrastructure;
• Participates in projects, such as data center relocations;
• Onboard new customers.

Job requirements

• Brocade SAN Switch knowledge;
• IBM SVC;
• General knowledge of various Enterprise storage boxes from vendors, such as Hitachi Vantara, Huawei, etc.;
• Experience with Connectivity and/or Hosting (IaaS);
• Understanding of Dutch is a big pre.

Some other technologies you might work with / Nice to have:

• Experience with scripting, for example, in PowerShell;
• Experience with automation and tools such as Ansible, Kubernetes, Python.

About the client:
The team operates from the Apeldoorn office once or twice a week and consists of 24 professionals. The team actively seeks collaboration with their chain partners, and there is extensive communication with the Network and Hosting teams for projects and the implementation of new clients. Naturally, this also applies to automation.
