• Duration:                           First contract is for 6 months with rolling extension.
• No. of working hours:     36 hours per week
• Location:                            2-3 days per week in office in Amsterdam

What is the project about?

We are seeking a skilled and experienced developer to join our dynamic and focused team. Our team members are versatile, capable of working seamlessly in both frontend and backend development. As a Dev Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and testing phases of our applications. Your expertise covers the entire stack, allowing you to bring applications into production and collaborate with Ops Engineers to resolve incidents.

Responsibilities

• Build, enhance, and maintain front-end and back-end Java-based applications, tooling, and scripts.
• Hands-on experience in designing, developing, and testing Java-based applications is essential.
• Apply continuous delivery practices in daily work.
• Consult with the team to meet functional and non-functional requirements of the IT product.
• Implement mandatory security standards to manage and control IT risk.
• Perform Life Cycle Management, including decommissioning.
• Use technical expertise to contribute to Agile ceremonies.
• Take on tasks outside your expertise to contribute to the team’s purpose.
• Actively give and receive feedback to contribute to squad development.
• Continuously develop personal expertise and share knowledge about developments and challenges.

Job requirements

• Java 11 or higher
• Spring Framework, mainly Spring Boot, nice to have Spring Integration
• RESTFul API’s and microservices architecture knowledge
• Javascript, web components (litElement, litHtml)
• SQL and RMDB
• Virtualization knowledge: Docker, OpenShift
• Kafka & Redis basic knowledge
• Continuous integration and delivery: Azure DevOps, Flyway
• Familiar with testing, including Test-Driven Development (TDD), end-to-end testing and Test automation (knowledge of Karate is a plus).
• Experience with modern application & stack monitoring tools.
• Designing and building for failure
• Coding and/or package integration
• Security & IT Risk
• IT market focus, including major trends in new ways of working.
• Strong written and spoken English proficiency.
